The north star pendant is solid 14k white gold, but it is provided on a rhodium plated sterling silver chain that can be clasped at either 18" or 16". Information about matching solid 14k gold chains is available by request as well.

This pendant can be engraved with up to 8 characters, including spaces and simple symbols, across the widest point of its back. Examples of the font options available for engraving can be seen here. A note from Gina...The original of my North-Star pieces, I created this pendant originally as an homage to my mom. She use to tell me that I came from the brightest star, and that I had a special magic. Every night since she passed, when I see the North Star, I blow it a kiss knowing that it will reach her. My love of space stemmed from this practice and my mother's words, and I have since imparted this love on my own sons. Once, a scientist mentioned that we are all made up of stardust - know that your loved ones are with you, watching, no matter where you go.

Each piece is set in our office, located in Southern California. Only a very small amount of ashes is used in the setting process; the exact amount needed depends on the size and depth of the piece's setting, but for simplicity's sake, a tablespoon of ashes will suffice for most orders. The setting process solidifies the ashes and brings out their natural color, which may differ from those in the piece photographed.
