Beautiful piece, beautiful process

When my father passed, I was not impressed with the jewelry offerings provided by the funeral home. I searched the internet to see what other type of jewelry was out there and when I found Close By Me, I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for. I knew right away that this size/design was what I wanted. The next part was hard. The idea of shipping my father's cremains made me nervous, but I knew this is what I needed to do in order to get my special piece. After I placed my order, I received an email from Gina with instructions on how to ship the cremains. In her email, she also expressed her interest in seeing pictures and learning about the dear loved ones she works with. I did not opt for the shipping kit when I ordered, so I was on my own to get everything together. I printed my father's obituary, along with another photo with a handwritten note to Gina about him. When you ship via USPS, there are specific requirements for shipping human remains. No other carrier handles human remains, so I highly recommend shipping via USPS and disclosing it contains human remains. The postal worker handled the situation with such care and dignity as he packaged/boxed everything. This gave me great confidence that my dad's remains would make it to Gina safely and with care. Two days later, I received a very kind message from Gina letting me know that my dad's cremains had made it to her safely and that she was so grateful to learn more about him through the information I sent. She was so sweet and considerate and prompt with all communication. I truly felt like she actually cared about my dad and me. She handled everything with empathy and kindness. It was a very personal experience, for sure. I received my piece about 3.5 weeks after the initial order was placed. It is so incredibly beautiful in person. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. I feel so good about the entire process and love having my dad with me in this way. I told Gina that I hope I don't need her services in the near future, but if/when I do, she can be assured I will be back. In the meantime, I'm telling everyone I can that this is the way to go.

A daughter's love

After I ordered a necklace with my son's ashes his daughter decided that she wanted to keep her dad close to her. It had been a year since his death and finally she was able to move on, so I got this necklace for her. Gina and staff are wonderful and deliver quality jewelry and excellent customer service.
